Would you like to be part of a highly motivated team of well-known writers and artists from around the world working to promote real food in all its aspects?

The Rambling Epicure is a daily international food chronicle, and the first online newspaper to follow global food trends and news.

Based in Switzerland, The Rambling Epicure joins the voices of food writers and artists from around the world who are interested in promoting a mindful, responsible approach to real-food shopping, cooking, and eating, as well as food politics, safety, history, art, literature and philosophy.

Although the common language of our site is English, many articles are published in Spanish, French, German and Chinese, in bilingual version, and we plan to include still more languages. This allows us to reach a truly international audience and spread the word, literally following food from seed to table and sometimes even beyond. We want to expand, and we have no borders. That is why we are looking for social media interns from now into the fall.

Waverly Root, author of Food: An Authoritative and Visual History and Dictionary of the Foods of the World, was an American journalist and writer, best known for the book The Food of France published originally in 1958, and is still in print today. Recipe: Strawberry-Rhubarb Compote

I always get really excited when the strawberries and rhubarb come on the market. For me it’s literally like “breaking news.” They’re really the first local fruit.

One of my favorite dishes is strawberry-rhubarb compote. It’s healthy, full of fiber and vitamins; it’s also versatile and can be used in many ways.

In addition, it’s about as easy as you can get.

George Bernard Shaw was born in Dublin, Ireland, on July 26, 1856, and died on November 2, 1950. Although of the landed Irish gentry, his father failed at both being a civil servant and working as a grain merchant. The family lived in genteel poverty, and Shaw’s education was irregular, also due to his dislike of any organized training, and ended at the age of 16. Shaw did however develop a broad knowledge of music, art, and literature, thanks to his mother’s strong cultural influence and many visits to the National Gallery of Ireland.

Luis Buñel was born in 1900 in Spain. While studying at the University of Madrid, he met Salvador Dali and Federico Garcia Lorca. He later went to Paris and served as an assistant to experimental filmmaker Jean Epstein, then went on to become a major Surrealist filmmaker in his own right, first in Hollywood, and later in Mexico. He was known for having good food and drink on his sets.

makes for an easy, affordable weekend jaunt. There is no lack of things to do.

The Gothic cathedral is of course, the main thing to see, and you can easily spend 2 days just exploring that.
